Our Story

Hollybank House

Although most of Hollybank House was built in 1825 (some of it is much older) we, the Williams family, have only been custodians since 1966. There is an interesting history which we will gladly share with you.

The Williams Family

Viv and Anna have been running Hollybank as a Bed and Breakfast since 2002 and wedding venue since before that.

Since lockdown Ian and Roz have started to take on the operations of the house. Roz, with a background as House Manager of Goodwood House for 9 years is taking this in her stride. Ian, with 18 years of global events and photoshoot production enjoys turning the idea of an event into reality.

We enjoy meeting people and love helping to plan and deliver events of all different shapes and sizes and Hollybank lends itself perfectly to most.

There is a whole lot more to us and the rest of the family. Come and stay or host an event and we can tell you more of our story.

Special Events

Although Hollybank House and the grounds can flex to suit most events we like to think that we specialise particularly in Wakes, Weddings and Dinner Parties.

Great venue for a local wedding reception. I enjoyed working as official wedding photographer at this fantastic Emsworth venue. Fantastic gardens for photos and supportive venue manager and host. Can't wait to get back again soon.

Beautiful and architecturally interesting house in very large grounds. Our bedroom was very spacious and the whole setting was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Super comfortable beds and nice extras in the room - tea and coffee facilities but also a tin of biscuits and some bottled water. Delicious breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Friendly and informative hosts.

We had our wedding here in May. A marquee in the gardens backed by a never ending wall of flowering rhododendrons, with the beautiful Georgian house in the background and glimpses of sea views - we couldn't have hoped for a better venue. Ian was a genuine pleasure to deal with, he made everything so easy and couldn't have been more helpful - thank you Ian! Us and some guests stayed in the house/BNB - so comfortable, delicious breakfast, sea views from the rooms. There are also many places for guests to stay nearby and glamping next door - so this is a perfect location for a wedding of any size. Thank you Ian, Viv, Ani & Family for hosting such a special day for us!
